The
mysterious death of two brothers, Kunmi and Niyi Adetokun in the Lagelu
Local Government area of Oyo has continued to cause controversy in Jagun
village, where they come from.
The
brothers had lost their lives in mysterious circumstances after reportedly both
indulging in illicit affairs with their uncles’ wives. One uncle, the former
Balogun of Jagun, Olusegun Ojetade, is said to have been responsible for
placin
g the native charm known as “Magun” on the women leading to the deaths of
both his nephews.
Narrating
his side of the story, the Baale of Jagun, Chief Isiaka Akinpelu said
after Kunmi's death which people insinuated was as a result of Magun, he
decided to find a solution to save the second man's life.
He then
called some people to get the truth of the matter. When he summoned Ojetade to
hear his side of the story, he denied the allegations. He also called Balogun’s
wife, Rachael, to get her side of the relationship between her and late Kunmi. She
was said to have admitted openly that she had sex with Kunmi and that there was
a time her husband saw her with Kunmi and the husband challenged her and
reported her to the oldest woman in the family.
Speaking on the incident, the mother of the deceased brothers,
Afusat Adetokun said, "by
the time Niyi died, I was already in my own village at Arikese where I was
taken after Kunmi’s death. I never had any affair with Segun Ojetade as people
were saying. It is true that he approached me for an affair but he never saw my
nakedness. I think the type inflicted on Kunmi by Segun was Akotan because he
could not talk before he gave up the ghost but it was Niyi who really opened up
that he slept with Femi’s wife."
