Reliable reports reaching FNN headquarters states that Nollywood A-list actress Genevieve Nnaji has joined the league of Nigerian entertainment Celebrities that are venturing into politics, come 2015.
This is coming as indications from the camp of former vice president and presidential Candidate of the APC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar stated that Genevieve will be his running mate and vice-presidential candidate.
According to Atiku4Nigeria campaign manager, Genevieve is the right candidate to help sell the Atiku ticket nationwide, especially as she meets the Southern-Christian expectations of many for a geographical and religious balance, in addition to gender and youthful mindset.
It is also widely reported that her recent Re-launching of her St. Genevieve clothing line was sponsored by Atiku and highly necessary to provide more publicity and refreshen the minds of the people on how much she’s adored before her formal unveiling by the Atiku4Nigeria2015group. Although even without the political strategies, the sponsoring of her event is not totally new and unexpected because they’ve always been indications about an affinity between the former vice president and the screen Diva.
As at the time of this report, FNN has not been able to ascertain if this will also go a long way in securing the votes of women, despite the fact that they haven’t held the exalted position in the country before, but we are sure the youths will be behind one of their most celebrated celebrity and role model.
